MEET THE TEAM.

Let's first kick things off and give you a bit of background about myself. My name is Tim Doughty, I am 22 years old and I am currently on my gap year after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2016. I live just outside London in the Thames Valley Area. I enjoy most sports, however, my favourites are cricket, squash, golf and football. I currently run my own cricket coaching business, Cricket Vision, which I ran through my university years. I have also worked for two further start ups over the last two years, one based in the UK and one in San Francisco. I have also experienced the so called 'Digital Nomad' life in Bali where I worked remotely for 5 weeks from a co-working space called Hubud, which was fantastic!

So why have I set up Uni Founders? Good question!

Part of the reason why I have set this up is because I wanted to create a platform where student entrepreneurs can share their stories to other budding student entrepreneurs in the hope that it will inspire them to start their own ventures. I want to create the culture amongst student entrepreneurs of "If he/she can do it, I can."  Furthermore, during my final year at university I was President of the Entrepreneur Society where I found that there was not much online specifically for those students who want to go down the entrepreneurial route and set up their own businesses. Therefore, I thought I would create this website which will give all entrepreneurial students motivation, advice, thoughts, and interviews with current student entrepreneurs. Also I hope that in the future we will run workshops around the country to help you on your business venture.

I hope you will get value from our website and if you are a current student at University and running a business please do get in touch to share your experiences. Similarly, if you are a student who wants to launch a business, please do get in touch and let us know what topics you would like to see on the blog.

Live your dream and share your passion !

What drives me? Passion. Passion in transforming ideas in businesses to help as much as I can.

I'm currently in my final year studying International Management at Warwick Business school and in my free time, running my startup: Givee, with my co-founder Seb. We work together with a team of committed students to solve the problem of finding gifts: www.givee.co.uk. At Givee (www.givee.co.uk), we help hundreds of people to find gifts for their friends and family. We are now building a technology that integrates with e-commerce marketplaces to transform any product, into a personal and flexible gift experience. Stay tuned.

Balancing both running a business whilst studying can be challenging. Thereby, Unifounders was born, to connect, support and nurture student entrepreneurs. I am deeply committed in bringing together through unifounders, motivated, bright and passionate entrepreneurs to inspire, nurture and support them on their journey.

Something which guides my decisions is the desire I have to inspire others to find and pursue their passions. I hope I can motivate people around me with my works. I love music. I started with the piano for a decade, and now addicted to guitar too. I also love making films, from conception to realisation. You'll often see me with my camera at hand, trying to capture beautiful moments.

I don’t care about what you do for a living, I want to know what you ache for, if you’ll risk looking like a fool for love for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.

Entrepreneurial by DNA, my passion in life is to take projects from imagination to achievement, to transform what was simply an idea into something tangible, valuable & memorable.

Alongside Unifounders, I also created  my startup www.givee.co.uk, the 21st century gift card, which combines the thoughtfulness of a physical gift with the convenience of a gift card.

When I’m not working (yes it does sometimes happen!), you’ll find me either playing football, golf, skiing, travelling, or discovering something new. I’m also a keen adventurer and curious learner, fascinated by space, the future and neuroscience.

A few quotes that speak to me are "If you’re smartest person in the room, then you’re in the wrong room" and "The most wasted human resource is intention".
